Google just launched a massive effort to peel back the curtain a bit on the physical location where the internet lives. There’s a photo series by Connie Zhou of the people, places, and technology that make up Google’s data centers. There’s an in-depth profile by Wired’s Steven Levy, and finally, they even opened up their Lenoir, NC data center with a Street View tour seen above, which can also be accessed on Maps.
