It might be more successful than Chris Isaak’s attempt at comedy. John Mayer’s lack of caring is almost refreshing. He seems to be a guy enjoying his life and it’s almost weird that he’s better at comedy than he is at making music. He killed on the Chappelle Show and there was the funny clip of him speaking Japanese to Ryan Seacrest.
Like Gabe at Videogum says, “he’s not playing with his image at this point, he’s donkey punching it and then leaving it by a highway exit ramp.”
Regardless: his music = shit (except for the blues stuff when he straight kills it), his personality = A
It’s always nice to have the Funny or Die guys back to work. In their first clip of 2008, Michael Cera is being interviewed by comedian Zack Galifianakis on the fake interview show, Between Two Ferns.
The thing is, the clip is so funny and you feel pretty awful for Michael Cera. He gets abused so much in this type of things, you almost would like to see him turn the tables. Anyway, the interview is excruciatingly painful, but then Galifianakis begins to molest the Superbad star and once you’re done chortling you think, hey? Is molestation really supposed to be this funny? I don’t think it is, but I laughed anyway and that probably says all you need to know about me.
