The concept of New Cover is simple: Matt Roeser is a graphic designer in St. Louis, Missouri., he reads books and designs new covers for them.
And the covers are fairly awesome. What’s nice is that Matt isn’t mining the same “minimalist-retro” territory that other designers of this genre are mining. He’s got a lush, evocative style all his own, whether it’s a simple, blood-splattered cover for Battle Royale or rearranging the periodic table to convey a negative-spaced spoon for The Disappearing Spoon.
Hopefully, he keeps this ongoing project up and running, but between a full-time job, there can’t be too much time for reading and designing book covers for his spare-time fun.
