He’s no Joe Kittinger, but jumping from outer space is still impressive, nonetheless. Love that the color commentators are actually talking about Kittinger and the other daredevils that came before Baumgartner.
Update: Well, he didn’t die. The 43-year-old Austrian has broken the record for the highest ever skydive by jumping out of a balloon 128,000 ft. (24 miles, natch) above New Mexico like a BOWSE. He was also trying to break the sound barrier during his descent, although that mark awaits confirmation.
