If it were up to NPR’s Planet Money and economists, the US government would institute these six policies immediately: eliminate the mortgage tax deduction, end the tax deduction companies get for providing health-care to employees, end the corporate income tax, eliminate all income and payroll taxes in favor of a progressive consumption tax, legalize and tax marijuana, and finally, tax carbon emissions.
Unfortunately, that will never happen because politicians would never go for them.
