An Oral History of the Greatest Television Show Ever Made

“I’m still in love with Edie. Of course, I love my wife, but I’m in love with Edie. I don’t know if I’m in love with Carmela or Edie or both. I’m in love with her.” — James Gandolfini, in Vanity Fair’s excellent oral history of The Sopranos.

It’s unbelievable that The Sopranos ended five years ago. That just seems weird, since people are still talking about that ending as if the episode aired last week. I still haven’t gotten around to seeing the final season, which is even more unbelievable. How did that happen?

Anyway, this is the second excellent oral history of the week; let’s hope that oral histories become a “thing” on the Internet. It’s a fantastic, underutilized concept.
