David Milch, the creator of Deadwood and (still pretending it didn’t exist) John From Cincinnati, is hopping back into the saddles of HBO by teaming up with director Michael Mann for a new show taking viewers into the seedy underbelly of horse racing.
The cast is absolutely fantastic, filled with the type of actors you’d want to see populate a show about this world: Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Farina, Nick Nolte and Richard Kind to name but a few.
Unfortunately, HBO hasn’t set an airdate yet for the series, but with angry jockeys, Nick Nolte’s beard, gambling, Hoffman as a mob boss and the drama swirling a world that few outsiders really know beyond the triple crown races, it feels like HBO could have another interesting property on their hands.
Needs more Al Swearengen, just saying. (via vulture)
