Good news for fans of the twisty-turny legal drama, Damages, which was canceled by FX. DirectTV has picked up the show for two more seasons and promises we’ll see a nastier, potty-mouthed Patty Hewes. “And fresh from a story line about a Bernie Madoff-like financial scammer, the legal thriller will next tackle the murky doings of a fictionalized Blackwater. “It’s a wrongful-death suit filed against a military contractor over something that happened in a war zone,” says executive producer Daniel Zelman.” The new season debuts in July.
For three seasons, Damages was always one of the smartest, best written shows on television, almost demanding the viewer to keep up with the plot twists and time jumps. Glad to see DirectTV rescue another quality show, as it did Friday Night Lights a few years ago.
