Tonight’s action

Sorry folks. It’s been an odd day. Shopping for a dryer on Craigslist and found a great deal for $30 but then the cord was the wrong kind, who knew right?, and so I had to go to a hardware store buy a new one and change out the cords. Hopefully, when I use the thing I won’t end up killing myself.

Plus the Red Sox are in action pretty much right now as we speak. Hopefully, we’ll get some great submissions for the contest otherwise I’ll just have to give the cds to either the homeless Muslim guy who prays five times a day to Mecca but doesn’t ever leave his spot on the median or the feral cat outside my apartment, who’ve I’ve affectionately dubbed Boutros Boutros Ghali. Is that even how you spell his name?

I’ll be back tonight with the song of the day. I’ve been listening to a lot of the new Rilo Kiley album, Under the Blacklight. So I’m thinking we might go with one of those tracks. To be honest I detested the album after the first listen but I begrudgingly gave it a couple more spins and it’s certainly grown on me. I like that they’ve embraced the worst aspects of the band and this time around it sounds like they’re having some goofy fun and not trying to sound earnest or important, which if you know anything about the band seems more fitting of them.

And just for kicks, tonight is the second season premiere of The Sarah Silverman Show. Sometimes funny, sometimes not. I get that Sarah Silverman rubs lots of people the wrong way, but I think she’s damn funny. That monologue at the MTV movies awards still has me chortling. Cause you know, when god gives you lemons make Lemon AIDS… or something like that. Comedy Central at 10:30 p.m.
