R.I.P. T.H.E. O.C.

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. – The O.C., Fox’s immensely popular teen drama for one season, died last night from apparent low ratings and audience insouciance.

The O.C. was born in the creative mind of wunderkid Josh Shwartz and though many people suspect the reached it’s end with the controversial lesbianism and subsequent death of popular character Marissa, it was really the death of villian and Steve Sanders knock-off Luke in season one which spelled the death of the series.

Okay, okay we kid. We can’t even pretend to do a serious obituary for the O.C. I’m not sure anyone even cares anymore. Heck, I’m not even sure we care here in the Oyster offices, but we thought we’d pay our respects for the five people who still watch the crazy adventures of Ryan, Seth, Summer and Marissa.

I’m sorry hold on one sec. What’s that? Oh really? Oh okay.

Apparantly Marissa died at the end of Season 3 in a firery car crash. The manly Ryan cried a lot! It was very sad. We watched in secret during Season One and then found out everybody was watching in secret during Season One. Then we watched a few episodes of Season Two and then stopped watching all together. But we’ll always have the O.C. beyotches! The O.C. is survived by One Tree Hill, Laguna Beach and The Hills.

Just because we know no one watches MadTV, since nobody watches SNL anymore we can only assume what that means for MadTV, we thought we’d share a little bit of Orange County parody featuring several of the actors from the actual television show.
