When I was a yound lad, the only toy I ever really wanted was the G.I. Joe Aircraft Carrier. It was six-feet long of toy greatness, an improbable thing. So improbable that it was discontinued after only a year of existence. Most kids wanted the toy, but only got to see it from a display at K.B. Toys or Toys ‘R Us. I was lucky enough to have actually seen one up close; the kid down the street had one. I’m not sure if it was worth the pricetag, but shit, it was amazing.
Still, I don’t think the G.I. Joe Aircraft Carrier has anything on this aircraft carrier created out of legos. I have no details on who created it or how long it is or how many Legos were used in created it. The only real question I have is how long did it take to create this work of art? There are more pictures at the guy’s website and you can see in greater detail what this beauty entails.

A little bit ago, Radiohead released a video for “House of Cards” featuring a 3D image of Thom Yorke’s head. The video was shot using 3D plotting techniques about the shapes and relative distances of objects. The video was created entirely with visualizations of that data. No cameras or lights were used at all. The band released the data used in the video, possibly in hopes that people would recreate the video or do some cool things with it.
Someone went through the data bit by bit and reproduced it painstakingly with Legos. Brick. By. Brick. And then animated it with time lapse photography. Obviously there is a bit of fakery involved here, along with digitally rendered Legos, but otherwise this is a cool bit of ephemera.
Oddly, it looks like the Talking Heads album cover for Remain in the Light. We didn’t stop there though, we’ve rounded up the best Radiohead-Lego mashups for you. MORE »
The Hong King Lego Users Group recreated the city of Bejing in under 100 hours. The National Aquatics Center is in the center. Other photos of Lego venues can be seen here. The good thing about this is there is no smog. [via]

Best. Thing. Ever. If only this came with a radio activated voice. Or a way to control him like a remote control car.

A talented woman created combustible singer crack addict Amy Winehouse for Bt3a. Unfortunately, she ran out of black Legos before constructing her beehive.
Not appropriate for children under 18, crack pipe included.

Bow down and recognize the glory of God in Legos. Can’t really tell if this is tongue firmly planted in cheek or if this is serious, but either way it’s insanity is it’s genius. From the creative mind of the Rev. Brendan Powell Smith. Be forewarned though that perusing through The Brick Testament is not for the faint of heart, nor is it for those short on time. I could spend hours looking through the illustrations. Though I’m not much of a Christian, this is certainly something I can get behind. To wit:
