This person is my new hero
I’ll give you a hint. It’s not Jesus.
What do you do when someone in your dorm room declares their love for God’s son? Give’em the ole wtf call out.

Oh, so this is how he saved the people.
Hold on, wait. What’s that? Oh this isn’t how he saved everyone? Oh, my humblest apologies. I must have misread The Bible somewhere.

It’s Sunday. I thought I had an outside chance of taking down J-Walk but that’s not the case. Though, I do have more songs in my music library with a reference to “Jesus” than Steel White Table. Final tally is 27 for J-Walk, 14 for SWT and I almost got there with 24. So close. Suggestions for getting over the top?
We thought Chocolate Jesus was funny but this easily takes the cake. A Chicago artist has created an Obama Jesus statue, with the Presidential candidate depicted in robes and a blue halo circling his head. It’s very minstrel looking, and def. offensive. You know cause Jesus is probably like you’ve lowered me into that dude’s level? If I were Jesus I’d start raining haymakers down on the world despite his whole stance on compassion and loving your neighbor despite through their faults and misgivings. From the AP:
An undergraduate student’s papier mache sculpture of Obama as a messianic figure entitled “Blessing” went on display Saturday at a downtown gallery run by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
By Monday, word of the piece had spread on political blogs, and the school had been flooded with calls.
David Cordero, 24, made the sculpture for his senior show after noticing all the attention Obama has received since he first hinted he may run for the presidency. “All of this is a response to what I’ve been witnessing and hearing, this idea that Barack is sort of a potential savior that might come and absolve the country of all its sins,” Cordero said. “In a lot of ways it’s about caution in assigning all these inflated expectations on one individual, and expecting them to change something that many hands have shaped.”
Oh okay. That sort of makes sense in a way. The media and netroots are all portraying Obama exactly like that. Don’t get me wrong he seems like a standup guy, very polished and able to form whole, coherent thoughts/sentences. The symbolism of the piece pretty much speaks for itself. But what does Obama think of it? Does he see the humor in it?
“While we respect First Amendment rights and don’t think the artist was trying to be offensive, Senator Obama, as a rule, isn’t a fan of art that offends religious sensibilities,” said Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki.
Of course not! Cause you want to keep the lefties and the righties happy. Well done, sir, well done. We still think Buddy Christ reigns supreme over dark chocolate Jesus and Obama Jesus. Obama on top, Buddy on the bottom.

We report you decide. Who’s team are ya on?
