Gardner Museum Heist Thieves Identified

The FBI is offering a $5 million bounty on information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators who stole $500 million worth of masterworks in a daring heist from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in 1990. Although the FBI says it knows the individuals and criminal organization responsible for the crime, they are not releasing any names in an effort to recover the artwork.

Finally, the statute of limitations has run out, so US Attorney Carmen Ortiz said there is a strong possibility that if and when the thieves are captured no charges will be filed. Sounds like this is purely a move to recover the missing art work.
