Sleazy Hotel Wi-Fi

Brian X. Chen for the New York Times, reports that the Courtyard Marriot’s Internet service “was secretly injecting lines of code into every page he visited, code that could allow it to insert ads into any Web page without the knowledge of the site visitor or the page’s creator.”

There’s no evidence to suggest this happens at other hotels, but it’s probably a good indication to use your own 3G or LTE hotspot when you travel and avoid hotel wi-fi altogether.
