New Law Would Let Telemarketers Call Your Cellphone

Telemarketers may soon be permitted to call cellphones at the owner’s expense. Sure, they say you have to opt-in, but anytime you put your cellphone on a sign-up sheet, you’re basically giving your authorization to be harassed if this thing passes. Here’s a campaign to stop the legislation in committee.

Obviously, you would be charged minutes if you answer the phone and it’s a telemarketer. They are trying to take away one of the nice things about being a mobile-only telephone user.
