Mr. T Drawing Gets Paul Maybury Fired from Whole Foods

It was pretty difficult resisting the obvious “I pity the fool” headline pun, but artist Paul Mayburry was fired from his job from Whole Foods after a vegan complained on the below drawing he did to promote boneless sirloin steaks.

“This is the sign that more or less got me pushed out of Wholefoods,” he writes. “I apparently offended a lot of people with it. One older white lady didn’t like the angry black man yelling at her. And a Vegan didn’t like that Mr. T. pitied her because she wouldn’t eat meat.”

Maybury has since gone on to create illustrations or Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Heavy Metal, Ubisoft, Metro, Image, Criterion and Mirage Studios. Be sure to check out his other illustrations for Whole Foods, which are just as clever, offensive, and awesome as the Mr. T one. [via dangerousminds]
