Keith Olbermann Signs Off Front Countdown

Keith Olbermann bid farewell to his viewers on what was shockingly the last edition of Countdown last night.

Nobody is quite sure how his departure developed, whether it was the writing on the wall from the FCC approval of the Comcast-NBC merger days before, or if relations have been strained between Olbermann and his bosses since they suspended him in November 2010 for making campaign contributions to Democratic candidates, or for something else.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Olbermann and MSNBC had been discussing a break for some time. Regardless, Olbermann will land on his feet, either at another network or maybe going back to sports, etc.
