Nieman Labs looks at eight trends you can expect from newsrooms in 2011. Most of the concepts are from a business perspective — things like the dissemination of news, content sharing, website design, etc. But these are the big topics that scare newsrooms. How their content is going to reach people.
I’m a bit surprised they didn’t talk about Facebook more, as it’s clear that this is how most people are going to be fed news stories and links, from their friends and friends of friends. Most websites need to focus on quality content, packaging that content and then figuring out the various channels for getting readers to that content — doesn’t matter if it’s through FB, Twitter, RSS, Flipboard, whatever.
