Retrofitting Suburbia

Speaking of TED, here’s another great talk by Ellen Dunham-Jones, on how we are going to redesign the suburban space and plan for dying malls, bankrupt big box stores, and generally making them more livable.

The concept of the suburbs as a political one, can be fairly fascinating. And, as they’ve been constructed in America, based around the thriving automobile, they’re not exactly practical living spaces.
