On Religious Intolerance and the Ground Zero Mosque

So, apparently, while I was away, there were rallies both for and against the “Ground Zero Mosque.”  Not surprisingly, for a country that prides itself on it’s religious freedom, we have a long tradition of religious intolerance.  The problems with the Cordoba Culture Center being just the latest example.

Of course the distance of two blocks is too close for some, but I’m not sure why New Yorkers — those actually affected by the terrorism on 9/11 — are allowing this issue to be driven by a Sarah Palin, who, let’s remind everyone, isn’t intelligent, and lived as far away from New York City on that particular day as someone living in Europe.
