Before the Big Bang

Two scientists have proposed an interesting theory as to what the Big Bang actually was: “the cosmos we live in was actually created by the cyclical trillion-year collision of two universes (which they define as three-dimensional branes plus time) that were attracted toward each other by the leaking of gravity out of one of the universes.”

I was unfamiliar with the term “brane,” which comes from string theory, Membrane theory and Brane cosmology.  Essentially, a “brane” is a a spatially extended mathematical concept that exists in a static number of dimensions.  Anyways, once you open this lid, it’s impossible not to have your brain explode from all of these theories.

It’s an interesting theory.
