Tracking Obama’s campaign promises

The St. Petersberg Times has put to good use an empircal look at the Obama Presidency.  Through it’s PolitiFact division, which fact-check statements by members of Congress, the White House, lobbyists and interest groups and rate them on a “Truth-O-Meter,” it’s tracking nearly 500 campaign promises that Barack Obama has made and seeing whether or not he lives up to those promises.

PolitiFact has compiled about 500 promises that Barack Obama made during the campaign and is tracking their progress on our Obameter. We rate their status as No Action, In the Works or Stalled. Once we find action is completed, we rate them Promise Kept, Compromise or Promise Broken.
