No more cursing on television, so sayeth the Supreme Court

In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court has ruled that the FCC is allowed to fine broadcasters for on-air profanities aired before 10 p.m. and that the one-free-expletive rule no longer stands. Shep Smith might have to start mincing his words.

In all reality, though, the Supremes sent the case back down to the federal court to determine whether the policy violates the First Amendment.  Hopefully, one day in the near future, we’ll be able to hear “fuck” in all her gloriousness on network television.  [AP]
