Google DNS

You may have heard Google announced they were offering DNS service and you may be scratching your head as to why they are doing this or if it’s worth switching.  It depends.  I switched over the weekend and it’s made my internet noticeably faster, but I’m also a bit reticent about any privacy violations in the future.  I don’t think it will happen, but I’m not ruling it out.

Anyways, here’s nice  explanation of this whole Google DNS business.

Daring Fireball has much more on this, including a response from competition Open DNS , Kottke’s thoughts, etc.  If you’re interested in making the switch, and based on my test run this weekend I think you should, here are the steps to do so and the privacy policy.
