New search engine takes aim at Google

Well, not just Google but all the other search engines.  It’s just that Cuil (pronounced “Cool”) comes from the search architect of Google, Anna Patterson, and her husband, Stanford professor Tom Costello.  It claims to have indexed three times as many web pages as Google, even though Google just announced it has indexed 1 trillion web pages.  It’s pretty looking and the search result layout is unique and it has the requisite funding to become a major player in the search business.  Just don’t think Google is all that worried.  I haven’t really tried the site out yet, though I may at some point today.
