Immigration in America

I dig this simple video illustrating immigration in the US from 1820 – 2007.  Every dot represents 100 people.  Whatever the faults of America are, and no doubt there are many, we’ve always been the one refuge for other people.  We’ve been the one country people can turn to when no place else wants them.  I do believe deeply in what is written on the Statue of Liberty, which is why it pains me to see immigrants – legal or not – demonized by politicians for some cheap power grab.
