There isn’t much more to say, at least from us here at the Oyster. We’re just sending our prayers and thoughts to the Virginia Tech community. Any time something like this happens to a community, it alters the fabric of it forever. We like to think we’re safe and sound and then something like this happens and it snaps us back to reality pretty quickly. We just hope the students and faculty and other workers can find the strength to finish out the semester.
I only wonder how this will effect next fall’s enrollment numbers? Will they suffer because of this senseless tragedy? We hope not.
For whatever reason this is the image I think of when I think about the Virginia Tech massacre.
The image of a student looking out from behind the doors, powerless to do anything, but intensely interested at what is going on.
