Rare Footage of Elvis Presley in 1972 Talking About Why He Missed the NASA Shuttle Launch

By 1972, Elvis Presley was knee deep in fat “flying jumpsuit” mode. And, according to this recently unearthed video of him riding in a limo, as he makes his way to a concert he was also knee deep in something else.

When asked by one of his friends if he saw the recent NASA shuttle launch, Presley doesn’t reply that he missed it but we are to infer that because he tells them at the time of the launch, “I was buried in beaver.”

Which makes sense since he was still The goddamn King, even in 1972 when he entered the Keith Hernandez zone by becoming fat and adorned in jumpsuits as an added challenge to see if he could still get laid. Which, obviously, he could. [via brobible]

You know that Presley died in 1977, four years before the first shuttle launch, right?

Yeah, I probably should've been more specific about the NASA program, which wasn't the shuttle. Would you still hate me if I chalked it up to laziness?
