George Harrison & Paul Simon, “Here Comes the Sun”

I’ve basically been spending the entire morning perusing and listening to George Harrison clips since posting the Scorcese doc trailer. This one is from a performance in 1976 on SNL. It’s really just amazing.

Okay, okay, here he is with Dylan rehearsing their duet of “If Not For You.” You know what it is that I love about George? He struck me as someone with the absence of an ego. Obviously, he knew he was talented and good at what he did. Perhaps, deep down he secretly believed he was the best. But, he constantly surrounded himself with other great musicians, as if it was more important to be an outstanding member of an outstanding team. That’s an amazing trait for a person to possess.
