About Time! Blind Pilot’s Sophomore LP “We Are The Tide” Due in September

It’s been a long time since we’ve heard anything from Blind Pilot. Their debut album, 3 Rounds and a Sound, came out in 2008  and since then, they’ve morphed into a very, very different band from the one that recorded that album. What started as a two-piece folk outfit from frontman Israel Nebeker and drummer Ryan Dobrowski, has turned into a large band which includes secret weapon Kati Claborn.

“There were rumors of record label drama, writer’s block, recording sessions in an Astoria tree house, flat bicycle tires (totally made this one up), and it seemed like a follow-up recording might never surface,” writes Ezra Ace Caraeff.

The band just announced the arrival of We Are the Tide, which will be out on September 13. Glad to see what has become the crowd-favorite and live-staple, “We are the Tide” not only make it to the album but also become the album’s title cut.

And here’s the song played live during MusicFestNW in 2009.
