Paste’s 50 Best Albums of 2010

Paste Magazine has always trended more towards Americana than indie with their musical recommendations, which is a welcome change of pace from the rest of the music blogosphere. Regardless, their selections are always backed with sound reasoning.

There are some unexpected and delightful picks like Laura Veirs and Blitzen Trapper, Free Energy, mixed in with some shockingly high results for Band of Horses, Sharon Jones, and Bruce Springsteen.  However, they really should be upset with their choice for number one.  Perplexing choice at best. Not that it wasn’t a 50 best album, but certainly not number one.

That LCD Soundsystem got mad props over at NPR Music too. I thought this list was alright. The description for Band of Horses was awesome, and I was glad to see that on there. That's one album this year that's gotten a lot of play from me, and I don't think it gets enough recognition. It's a great album from some of the nicest guys in the business I've had the chance to meet. I would have liked to see the Head and the Heart on that list. And Dr. Dog.
