Two weeks ago, Nashville, TN suffered deadly flooding and the country barely seemed to care because the media was distracted by an oil spill in the gulf and a bomb scare in Times Square.
But just because nobody seemed to notice that one of this country’s music capitals was destroyed (to the tune of $1.6billion in damages and 29 dead) doesn’t mean we can’t do something to help — do I find it odd many in this country rushed out to overwhelmingly help Haiti and not Nashville? A little, though I suppose the Haiti disaster was much, much, much worse.
Noise Trade Records and Lightning 101 have teamed up to offer a free compilation album, featuring some serious Nashville music talent. The album’s free, but if you leave a donation, all donations will be kicked to The Community Foundation’s Emergency Tennessee Relief Fund. [via]
