Apple Kills

Not really surprising or all that newsworthy, given this announcement was expected once the Cupertino company purchased the cloud-based music service for $80 million.

But what this does signal is that Apple intended to purchase to eventually (one would assume) roll their technology into the iTunes store.  It would be nice if Apple could take this moment to create an online media store for music, movies, books, etc. and create a streamlined desktop media player.  One that isn’t so goddamn clunky — so, ahem, get rid of the damn genius functionality.

I don’t know if that’s their intention, but I’d like to see it happen.
