Langerado announces initial lineup
They’ve delayed the initial Langerado Music Festival lineup by almost a week and at first glance you can add them to the list of festivals which started out as havens for jambands and hippies and took a left turn down hipster lane.
The 2008 event takes place March 69, and will be headlined by R.E.M., The Beastie Boys and Phil Lesh & Friends.
Also dropping in to play a set will be 311, Matisyahu, Ani DiFranco, Ben Folds, The Roots, Thievery Corporation, Les Claypool, G. Love & Special Sauce, Built to Spill, The Disco Biscuits, Umphreys McGee, Ghostland Observatory, The National, !!! and many others.
So you get the sense that this is no longer jambands only, from the additions of Ben Folds, Ghostland Observatory, The National, !!! and Of Montreal. You’ve got to wonder if this is a bid to sell more tickets, but it’s sad that every music festival has morphed into one homogeneous entity. Might as well have Clear Channel or LiveNation put together one big traveling music festival that plays one festival per month in different locations throughout the year. Hell, we could even make it like a sporting contest with certain festivals becoming the four “Majors.”
The festival runs March 6-9 and will be held at Big Cypress. Tickets go onsale this Friday at 12 p.m. and include camping as well as late night shows on site. If you prefer the phone you can call 800-594-TIXX to purchase tickets. Read on for the full lineup, and look for more artists to be added soon.

Some odd choices for sure, but I’d be excited at the diverse lineup.

March is coming!! Weve all waited to Langerado Music Festival. Even if this festival is still young it has grown in our minds because of the big entertainment it provides. The festival has changed last year’s place to the big Cypress Indian reservation, but I can’t change my mind and I’ll attend. I prepared myself even what relates to tickets I discovered something interesting. There’s a site where to make a comparison of ticket prices for free and book where prices are reasonable:
