Noise Pop is a wonderful little festival that happens in San Fran at the tail end of February and the first week of March. As far as festivals go, it’s often overshadowed, yet it’s reputation has always been of the highest and most enjoyable quality. More announcements will come in early December, but 2008 already has a few bands lined up.

The Magnetic Fields will headline the festival. Also on the bill are Portland’s The Mountain Goats, Omaha’s Cursive and The Gutter Twins.

As usual for the festival, nationally-known artists will share the stage with the best new Bay Area talent from opening night on February 26 through March 2 at legendary San Francisco venues such as Great American Music Hall, Bimbo’s, Café Du Nord and The Bottom Of The Hill, The Independent, Mezzanine, Rickshaw Stop, 12 Galaxies and others.

2008 will mark the 16th year for the festival.
