Alex Turner saying goodbye to monkeys

Well sort of.? The leader of the Arctic Monkeys is going to enter a studio next month to record a project with good friend Miles Kane, he of The Rascals.? This won’t be the first time the two friends have worked together, as Kane did some guit work for the Monkeys latest record Favourite Worst Nightmare.??

According to Filter: “The duo will jet to France later this month to begin recording their own project and have high hopes of completing the majority of it in just two weeks. Keeping time for Kane and Turner’s bass, guitar, and vocals will be producer James Ford [Simian Mobile Disco] on drums. The project remains untitled (possibly Turner & Kane?) and the album is expected to be released early in 2008, after they’ve had a chance to put strings and other finishing touches on the record.”

Should sound interesting enough.? The Arctic Monkeys have been getting all the love in the world from the too-willing-too-hype British press and The Rascals debut EP should drop sometime in October.? And both bands sounds extremely similar to one another.? Hopefully, it won’t be more of the same.
