Suggestions to Make The Next ‘Star Wars’ Great

You probably know by now that director JJ Abrams is helming the upcoming ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ for Disney and LucasFilm. Sincerely Truman offers up some helpful advice for what makes the beloved franchise great, ie, why the Original Trilogy worked and the Prequel Trilogy was a turd. The rules are: 1. The setting is the frontier. 2. The future is old. 3. The Force is mysterious. 4. Star Wars isn’t cute.

It’s not exactly mind-blowing, but it’s a nice reminder of some of the factors we loved about the original that were missing in the prequels. Having a compelling story and characters helps, too. [via kottke]
