In celebration of its 100 years of making movies, Universal has decided to update its logo, which technically debuts ahead of The Lorax, but can seen above. It’s not anything radically different than what’s come before it.
It’s also a nice reminder how one can be emotionally connected to a movie studio logo that plays before a movie. There’s just something about the spinning globe, the grandiose music — that fanfare, you know? Really, only 20th Century Fox and maybe Dreamworks produces that same breathtaking emotional anticipation of going to the movies.
Is that weird?
