Trailer: Killing Them Softly

Brad Pitt teams up with director Andrew Dominik once again for an adaptation of George V. Higgins 1974 Boston-set crime novel ‘Cogan’s Trade’. The adaptation is set in a post-Katrina New Orleans instead of Boston, which is a fine change.

The trailer itself doesn’t look like anything special, save for the cast, but anyone who has seen the Dominik’s previous movies, Chopper and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, then you know he has a knack for bring a disconcerting beauty to the ugly side of crime.

The gritty crime drama also stars James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Richard Jenkins. Killing Them Softly arrives in theaters on Oct. 19. [via huffpost]
