Normally, a movie gets pushed back a full year at the last minute it’s a major warning sign the movie sucks. In the case of ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation‘ — which actually looks like it could’ve been a decent summer sleeper flick — the studio and those involved have pushed the movie to convert it to 3D, or so they say.
Still, according to Deadline, it sounds like the 3D excuse is just code for, “HOLY SHIT WE REALIZED OUR MOVIE SUCKS A MONTH BEFORE OPENING.” Now, we’ll have to wait until next March to find out. What are the chances this ends up getting dumped onto torrents in a decent quality before next March?
Sometimes I wonder how movie studios can be considered successful businesses when all they do is burn piles of money.
