And it’s kind of disappointing, in a doesn’t reveal anything sort of way: “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here?
“Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”
Basically, it’s a Superman origin story with a young Clark Kent going on a personal journey to decide and become Superman. Or something. Hopefully, it’s got some crazy Zack Snyder action in it and isn’t just a Batman Begins type of clone.
What I mean is that tonally, Batman Begins doesn’t work for the character of Superman. Nobody wants to see a pouty Clark Kent trying to wrestle with being a hero. Also, would it have killed Warner Brothers to include a little bit about how Zod and the villains fits into the story and what sort of journey Clark goes on.
I know they want to keep it a surprise, but at least throw the Internet a bone.
