First Look at Pixar’s Female Warrior from “Brave”

Courtesy of Disney Pixar France comes the first actual look at Princess Merida from Pixar’s upcoming film Brave. It’s the first Pixar film to feature a female lead (voiced by Kelly MacDonald), and the first to be co-directed by a woman (Brenda Chapman who left the project midway through but is still getting co-credit).

Brave, which is set “in the mystical Scottish Highlands,” and will inevitably be called Pixar’s Mulan should be getting a teaser trailer attached to Cars 2, and has a tentative release date for June 22, 2012. Here’s to hoping this is more Pixar doing Braveheart, because that would be rad. [via bleedingcool]
