Contagion Bacteria Posters Double as Cool Advert

In an effort to produce the new Steven Soderbergh flick, Contagion, which opens today, Warner Bros. Canada took an unlikely route — they created posters for the movie comprised entirely of bacteria.

The WaPo notes: “A YouTube video shows the process in which “two large Petri dishes were inoculated with live bacteria including penicillin, mold and pigmented bacteria.” The result is the most amazing, creepy and literal viral marketing campaign in recent history.”

Such a cool idea. More than anything, it strikes me that advertising still works, it just has to be damn near great to cut through the clutter.

P.S. I want to see this movie just to watch Gwyneth die a horrible viral plagued death.
