The Beaver Trailer

Jodie Foster’s long-delayed comedy, The Beaver, gets it’s first trailer.  And by long-delayed we mean Mel Gibson is batshit insane.  But that’s neither here nor there.  Gibson does comedy well and his insane behavior might give this movie, in which he stars as a man who wears a beaver puppet on his hand to communicate with the outside world, another layer of subtext that the movie wouldn’t have had if it starred Steve Carrell as originally planned.

The movie looks like it’ll see release in the Spring of 2011.  It’s also being sold as a little bit more of a dramedy than pure comedy, which was my initial impression of the film.  Still, if this is 2/3rds as good as Lars and the Real Girl then we’ll still have a pretty good flick.
