It’s becoming apparent from the year end movie lists that The Social Network, Black Swan, Winter’s Bone, Inception and Toy Story 3 are the critics favorites. I won’t argue the merits of those movies because they are all very, very good. The AV Club showers praise on a few foreigns that nobody has seen or heard of and keeps the theme of The Kids Are Alright being 2010’s obligatory “over-appreciated indie dramedy” (see: Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, etc.).
Skip past the numerical list and head for page two, where each critic breaks down their year at the movies. The writing is excellent.
