Back to the Future: My Tribute

I’d like to thank Jim for his shared love of Back to the Future (my all-time favorite movie) and frequent commentary on the film.

Like Jim, I am loving the royal treatment BTTF is getting for its 25th anniversary, and I’ve written my own tribute to the film on Mug for Thought in case any of you are interested in reading. Some quick highlights from the post:

Check out the interview with screenwriter Bob Gale. I agree with HeyUGuys that it would be fun to see what Disney did with the movie. (If any0ne has found a video based on this idea, please share it in the comments.) Also, thank goodness Gale is not considering a BTTF remake with Justin Bieber as Marty. I hope no one else is.

Back to the Future is the cover story of Entertainment Weekly‘s current, 20th Anniversary Issue, aka “The Reunion Issue.”

As Jim mentioned, a 25th anniversary Blu-ray edition of the trilogy will be released October 26th, 2010, 25 years to the date that Marty’s journey began!

P.S. BTTF fans who enjoyed the original footage shot with Eric Stoltz might be amused to know that Melora Hardin (Jan from The Office) was originally cast as Jennifer for Stoltz’ Marty. Imagine if The Office writers read about this and referred to it on the show. I hope they do.

Sarah, I had no idea about Melora Hardin being the original Jennifer. What a weird movie BTTF would've been with her and Stoltz! I heard Mattel is coming out with BTTF action figures, forget where I saw the story/link though…
