AFI’s Top Films of 2010

They were announced yesterday and the only one that immediately jumps out at me is Ben Affleck’s The Town. Not because the movie wasn’t good, it was, it’s just that these types of crime-thrillers don’t usually get any sort of awards recognition.  So kudos to them.

AFI MOVIES OF THE YEAR

  • Black Swan
  • The Fighter
  • Inception
  • The Kids are All Right
  • 127 Hours
  • The Social Network
  • The Town
  • Toy Story 3
  • True Grit
  • Winter’s Bone

I wasn’t all that impressed with The Kids are Alright, it’s okay, but it’s the kind of awards-bait drama that you think nothing of five minutes after the credits roll.  I can’t imagine anyone talking about it at a bar or during a dinner party, etc.  Toy Story 3, Winter’s Bone, Inception, and The Social Network are all deserving.  Still haven’t seen Black Swan, The Fighter, True Grit or 127 Hours.  [via Rope of Silicon]
