I’ll admit that I didn’t hate Twilight. On a superficial level, it’s easy to understand why it’s so popular as both a series of novels and movies. It works in a very victorian romance kind of way, that is clearly different than the types of romance stories (i.e. bad rom-coms) generally stuffed down women’s throats.
With that said, the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon debuted last night on the MTV Movie Awards. The biggest curiosity is seeing if new director, Chris Weitz, could improve the visual style of the film. Give it some oomph. I’m not sure the werewolf reveal is a plus. Terrible FX works. The stilted lovers dialogue is still there and Robert Patterson, though he may be hot ladies, always looks like he’s constipated and painfully trying to pooh.
The film is due in theaters November 20.
