Rodrigo Blaas’s “Alma”

This short animation directed by Pixar’s Rodrigo Blaas has a nice bait and switch to it.  You would expect it to be cute and cuddly — afterall, it is about a young girl who becomes intrigued by the contents of a mysterious toy shop — but it is not.

Blaas assembled some top flight talent for this story, including: French animator Bolhem Bouchiba, character designer Carlos Grangel and Sergio Pablos, ArtDirector Alfonso Blaas, music composer Mastretta and sound designer Tom Myers. [via]
