Mickey Rourke confuses his comeback role with actual desire to wrestle

Is it too early to say Mickey Rourke is blowing his second comeback already?  The actor who’s earned much deserved acclaim for his role in Darren Aronofky’s The Wrestler is going to participate in the WWE’s Wrestlemania 25 on April 5 in Houston.

“The boys from the WWE called me and asked me to do it,” Rourke told Access Hollywood at the SAG Awards last night. “I said, ‘I want to.’ I’m talking with [WWE legend] Rowdy Roddy Piper about it.”

There’s been no indication if Rourke will actual wrestle in the event or just make an appearance to promote his film, but with his background as a boxer nothing would surprise me.  He even has his sights on a particular wrestler.

“Chris Jericho, you better get in shape,” Rourke added. “Because I’m coming after your ass.”
